The Eyes Have It: Simple Steps for Making Your Trade Booth Irresistible

If you want to make a trade show worth your time, you are going to need to generate a lot of leads while you’re there. And there’s no better way to generate leads at a trade show than to have a booth that people can’t take their eyes off of.

When you’re at a show, every company is competing for the attention of potential customers. You need to make sure that people chose your booth as often as possible. The good news is that there are several sure-fire ways to do this. Here are just a few of them that will help you get the attention of potential customers at your next trade show.

Get the Right Location

As in real estate, the most important thing to having a successful trade show booth is location, location, location. If you are in the right spot, the people will flow passed your booth naturally.

If you can choose your location, find a spot that’s on the main walkway of the venue. If there aren’t any of those spots available, go for a corner: this way, you’ll have foot traffic from two different directions. Whatever you do, avoid getting placed near any architectural obstacles such as support pillars or stairs that can block people’s view of your booth.

Even if you get stuck with a bad location, it’s not the end of the world. There are still things you can do to generate a buzz around your booth.

Take Advantage of Giveaways

There are hundreds of small, promotional items that you can give people for stopping by your booth: everything from pens, tee shirts, flash drives and more with your logo on them will keep your company in the forefront of people’s minds once they leave your booth.

If you have a thermometer app, you can keep track of the weather and offer refreshments accordingly. If it’s cold, you can use a coffee maker to warm your visitors up, or if it’s raining, you can have a stack of towels handy for them to dry themselves off with. The key is to think about what giveaway would make your customers happy and then give it to them. They’ll thank you and remember you long after they leave.

Get Creative

Even if you’re booth isn’t necessarily the most creative one at the show, you can still try some out-of-the-box thinking to entice people to stop by.

You can host a small game to pique people’s interest. Think of a way to turn your products and services into a game that will keep people playing for a while: the longer the are at your booth, the better chance you have of making a sale. Alternatively, you could wear costumes that match your company’s products: if you stand out from the other’s that are just wearing suits, you’ve won the battle!

Try some of these ideas the next time you’re at a trade show and watch the number of leads you collect grow.
